Hit 500 miles on the AT this year, didn't expect that number at all
Honestly I set out in March just aiming for weekend loops near Shenandoah, nothing crazy. But by June I kept adding sections and suddenly my GPS log showed 512 total miles on the Appalachian Trail. That number felt huge because my previous best year was only 140 miles combined. Did the math on resupply costs too, about $1,100 in food and gas which made me rethink my whole budget. Has anyone else accidentally crushed their own mileage goal without planning for it?
