Had to cut my trip short after a stream crossing went bad" man that phrase alone gives me chills. Glacier's creeks can go from ankle deep to waist high in a matter of hours with the snowmelt. I remember reading about a guy who got swept downstream and his pack acted like an anchor. Did you lose any gear? That water has got to be freezing cold even in summer which makes it that much more dangerous if you go in. Glad you made it out okay because I've heard stories where people underestimated the current and it turned into a whole rescue operation.

I used to think I could muscle through any crossing if I just took it slow enough, but reading stories like that changed my mind completely. You just can't predict what that water will do.
