Choosing between the Teton Crest Trail and the Wind River High Route

I had to pick one for a 5-day trip last August and went with the Teton Crest. The views from Hurricane Pass were incredible, but the permit lottery was a real hassle. Has anyone done the Wind River route and can compare the crowds?

My buddy did Wind River last year and saw maybe three other groups the whole week.

Sounds like your buddy found the one place on earth that hasn't been ruined by Instagram yet. Three groups in a week is basically being alone. I'd kill for that kind of quiet on a trail now. Last place I went felt like a line at the grocery store. Makes you wonder how long those spots can stay hidden before someone posts a pin on a map. We're all just chasing that same empty feeling until we tell someone about it.
