That $200 pin removal kit was a lifesaver on a King Air harness swap
I was rebuilding a harness section in a King Air 200 last month and had about 15 pins that were completely stuck from corrosion. My cheap screwdriver method was just mangling the contacts so I caved and bought a proper extraction tool set from Cinch for around $200. Got every single pin out clean in under 20 minutes without damaging the connector. Has anyone else found a cheaper brand that works as well for those old crimp-style pins?

Yeah, "sometimes paying for the real tool is cheaper in the long run" hits hard. Cheaping out on these just costs you twice.

My buddy tried to save fifty bucks on a cheap pin removal kit off Amazon for a Cessna 310 job. Snapped the tip off the first pin he tried to extract and ended up drilling the whole connector block out at 2 AM. I just let him borrow my M81969/14-01 kit the next time and he went out and bought his own the same day. Sometimes paying for the real tool is cheaper in the long run when you factor in the headache you avoid.
