I was checking continuity on a nav light circuit and kept getting a weird reading
It was on a Cessna 172, and my Fluke meter kept showing 0.3 ohms when it should have been open. I was about to start pulling panels when I realized I left the master switch ON. The tiny voltage backfeeding from the avionics bus was messing up my reading. Turned the master off, got a clean open circuit, and found the real break in the wire. How many other simple mistakes have you guys made that cost you an hour of head scratching?

Wait, you left the MASTER on? That's a new level of oops. I'd be checking every switch twice after that. Glad you found the real problem though.

Oh man, I've totally been there. One time my car battery kept dying and I swore I was turning everything off. Turns out I had a tiny map light on in the back seat I never even used. I felt so silly. Now I do a full walk-around check with a flashlight if something's draining power. It's always the little thing you overlook.
