I was at the MRO facility in Dallas and saw a crew using a new diagnostic tablet I'd never seen before, which got me thinking about whether we're moving too fast with unproven tech in the cockpit.
On one hand, these new integrated tablets can cut troubleshooting time in half, but I'm worried about relying on a single point of failure that could ground a plane if it glitches, so what's your take on the risk versus reward?

You ever see a plane grounded just because a tablet died? I mean, they still have all the old manuals as backup, right?

Try finding a specific chart in a thousand-page paper manual during turbulence.

My neighbor's a pilot and his tablet died mid-route, he just pulled out a folded sectional from his flight bag.
