Hit 10,000 wire terminations last Tuesday and it made me pause

Was doing my logbook for a routine harness repair on a CRJ-200 when I added up my numbers. 5 years in avionics, 14 different aircraft types, and I crossed 10,000 solder joints and crimps. Never really thought about the cumulative count until that moment. Any of you guys keep track of your lifetime terminations or am I just weird about documentation?

I mean, it's smart honestly. I do the same thing in my logbook, just a running tally at the back. Helps with tracking tool wear and when to replace my crimpers. Doesn't hurt to know when you're due for a new pair of flush cuts either.

Flush cuts usually last me about 6-8 months before the blades start to go dull, but it depends on what you're cutting. I've had a pair last over a year just trimming small branches, then another pair die in 4 months from heavy use on thicker stuff. You might want to check the blade alignment too - if they're pinching instead of cutting clean, it's probably time.
