Had a squawk disappear on its own during a test flight last Tuesday
Was troubleshooting an intermittent G1000 altitude discrepancy for two days, then it just stopped doing it mid-air. Anyone else ever chase a ghost fault that magically fixed itself?

Tuesday? That ghost fault is probably still lurking, you just got lucky.

The whole "just got lucky" thing is pretty dismissive honestly. That specific fault line has actually been monitored by geologists for years showing minor shifts that don't always lead to big quakes. So maybe they had data we don't and knew the risk was lower than people assume.

Exactly this. It's easy to call it luck but those geologists have been tracking that fault for decades. @the_sage probably didn't see the long term data showing the pressure was releasing slowly over time instead of building up for one big rupture. Glad someone's actually reading the science instead of just throwing out hot takes.
