Got chewed out by an inspector in Atlanta over a bad solder joint last spring
I was rushing through a nav radio install on a King Air and left a cold joint on the backshell ground, he caught it right away and made me redo the whole harness. Has anyone else had an inspector save them from a dumb mistake that couldve grounded an aircraft?

Did that fix end up changing how you prep your grounds now?

I knocked over my whole bag of beans the first time I tried leveling.

Honestly it totally did. I used to just dump the grounds in and hope for the best, like some kind of animal. Now I actually take the time to level them out and tap the portafilter a bit before tamping. Makes a way more even puck and the shots pull so much cleaner, no more channeling or spraying everywhere. It's one of those small tweaks that just kills it for consistency. Can't believe I went so long being sloppy about it.
