Debate: Stick with old-school analog testing or go all-in on digital?

I used to do all my continuity checks with a simple DMM and a tone generator, like we learned in A&P school back in 2012 at Embry-Riddle. But now I'm switching to a multi-function digital autoranger, and it's cutting my troubleshooting time on a 737 panel from 45 minutes to maybe 15. Do you think the tech makes us better, or are we losing the feel for the circuit? What's your take?

It's like everything else, we trade feel for speed these days.

My mechanic told me something last week that stuck with me. He said older cars you could fix with a wrench and a hammer, but now everything is just a black box they swap out and throw away. Same with my parents' old stereo system versus my bluetooth speaker you pair with an app. We traded being able to understand and repair our own stuff for a tiny bit of convenience and a slightly smaller package. It feels like we gave up a lot more than we got most of the time.
