Warning: picked a 3rd party warranty over the dealer one for my 2019 Tacoma and now I'm stuck in claim limbo
Back in March my dealer in Mesa quoted me $2,100 for their extended plan but a 3rd party outfit offered the same 5 year/60k coverage for $1,450, so I went with the cheaper one. Fast forward to last week when my transmission started slipping and the 3rd party adjuster keeps saying they need "more diagnostic proof" before they'll approve the $3,800 repair, while the truck just sits at the shop. Has anyone actually gotten a 3rd party warranty to pay out on a big ticket repair, or am I about to eat this cost myself?
