Stopped by a dealer in Boise and saw the finance guy hand out warranty pamphlets like candy
I was killing time at a dealership in Boise waiting on a tire rotation and watched the finance guy hand out warranty pamphlets to basically everyone in the lobby. Back when I bought my first truck in 2009, they barely mentioned the extended plan unless you asked. Now it feels like the pitch is baked into the whole deal, and the numbers he was quoting were wild, like $2,800 for 5 years of coverage on a used SUV. I get that repairs cost more now, but half the folks in there had no clue what was even covered. It made me wonder if anyone actually reads the fine print before signing. Did your dealer push the extended plan hard, or did you have to bring it up yourself?
