Serious question, my transmission went out 2 weeks after my 3 year warranty ended and I'm out $4,200
So I bought a 2019 Civic in 2021 with the factory warranty and it ran out at 36,000 miles. Two weeks after I hit that number my transmission started slipping bad on the highway near Columbus. Shop quoted me $4,200 for a rebuild and I about fell over. I skipped the extended warranty when they offered it at the dealer because everyone told me it was a scam. Now I'm wondering if I should have just paid the $1,800 back then. Has anyone actually used one of these third party warranty companies after the fact or am I stuck eating this cost?
