Unpopular opinion: We don't talk cars with neighbors like we used to

I remember when folks would stop by to ask for help with a sputtering engine. Now, it's all apps and scheduled appointments, no more spontaneous help. What do you think changed how we interact over car troubles?

Maybe the real problem is we're all just too scared to look dumb asking for help now?

Modern life just sort of puts everyone in their own bubble with busy schedules. I forced myself to ask a guy down the street for a jump last winter when my battery died, and we ended up chatting for twenty minutes. Maybe we just have to be the ones to start the conversation again sometimes.
