The difference in my bay after I started cleaning my scan tool every Friday

For a year, my Autel would randomly freeze or give weird codes, especially on Monday mornings. I figured it was just old software. Then I saw a guy at the shop in Tempe wipe his down with a microfiber and some isopropyl alcohol at the end of each week. I started doing the same thing last month. My diagnostic time on the first job of the day dropped by like 15 minutes because I'm not fighting a greasy, unresponsive touchscreen. All that dirt and brake dust was messing with the connection. Anyone else have a simple tool maintenance habit that actually paid off?

Man, I used to think cleaning my scanner was a total waste of time. Figured it was a tough tool and could handle the grime. But after reading this, I gave it a wipe down last night. Used it this morning and the screen actually responded on the first touch, no lag at all. I feel dumb for not trying it sooner, that grease layer must have been way worse than I thought. Definitely adding this to my Friday routine now.

Yeah, it's wild how much a simple wipe helps. My old phone got so bad with fingerprints I could barely see the screen. Started using a microfiber cloth on it and my tablet once a week, just a quick pass. The touch response got way faster, like night and day. It's one of those things you don't notice building up until you clean it off.

Same here, @gavin_mason31, I always thought it was pointless until I tried it and the difference was crazy.
