Pro tip: Stop chasing after that perfect Snap-On box, it's just not worth it
I know everyone loves those big shiny tool boxes but I bought a used Snap-On 3 years ago for 3000 bucks and the drawer slides kept jamming in the cold here in Detroit. Finally sold it and got a Harbor Freight box for 800 dollars. Thing has been solid through two winters no issues at all. Anyone else find that the fancy stuff isn't always the best fix for the job?

Gotta ask though, how cold are we talking? Like I'm in Ohio and we get those random -10 degree mornings and my Harbor Freight box handles it fine, but I've heard the lube on the nicer brands is made for warmer shops. Did you ever try swapping out the grease on those Snap-On slides before you sold it? Curious if that would've fixed the sticking or if it's a design flaw that just happens with temp changes.
