Hot take: That customer complaint about my rust repairs actually fixed my process

A guy with a 2003 Silverado in Boise told me I didn't grind out the pinholes deep enough before welding. He was right - now I spend an extra 20 minutes per panel chasing every tiny pit with a burr bit and my patches haven't failed since. Anybody else had a customer teach them something they use daily?

The burr bit trick is gold, I started doing that too after a guy complained about pinholes in my work.

Oh man that's a good one lol. Had a lady with an old F150 tell me my welds looked like "stacked dimes" from a distance but up close they were actually pretty sloppy and she was dead right. Now I clean every bead with a flap disc and it's just second nature.
