Hit 50,000 brake jobs today according to my records. That number caught me off guard.

I keep a little notebook in my toolbox, just a habit from my first mentor. Every brake job I do, I mark it down. Yesterday I flipped back through and counted. 50,013 to be exact. I started in 1995 in a little shop outside of Nashville. Never thought I would do that many. It made me think about all the different cars, the rusted bolts, the come backs. What milestone numbers have you guys hit that surprised you?

Nashville is actually about 200 miles from me, so close enough in my book. But 50,000 brake jobs is wild, I'd have to buy a new notebook every 10 years to keep that record.

Man, that's the kind of number that really makes you stop and think, doesn't it? @schmidt.blake I hear you on the notebook situation, I actually switched to a spiral bound index card system years ago so each year is just one little stack. You gotta have a system for tracking those comebacks too, I started marking a little "C" next to any job that had to be redone so I could spot patterns in certain car models. That's been way more valuable than just the raw count over the years.
