Hit 200,000 miles on my old F-150 last Tuesday

I was driving home from a shift and glanced at the odometer and there it was, 200k on a 2005 truck. It's got rust spots and the AC blows warm half the time, but that engine still starts every morning without complaint. Made me think about how vehicles used to be considered worn out at 100k, now we just keep patching them together. Anyone else got a high-mileage beater that just won't quit?

That old F-150's got a decade on my '03 Silverado, but I just rolled past 215k and it's still hauling lumber better than half the new trucks on the lot. These things really do earn their keep if you don't mind a few rattles and a check engine light that's basically just a friend now.

What's the check engine light even code for at this point, or is it like mine where it's just a vague suggestion that something might be unhappy? My old Tundra's been flashing a "loose gas cap" message for three years now, and I've accepted it's just part of the truck's personality at this point. I figure the rattles are just the truck talking to me, telling me it's still alive and kicking. When you get past 200k miles, you stop trying to fix every little noise and start calling it character. Your Silverado's probably got more honest miles on it than a brand new truck with all those fancy computers will ever see.
