Hit 10,000 brake jobs this Tuesday and it caught me off guard
I was just finishing up a 2015 F-150 rear pad swap when I glanced at my old shop logbook and realized I had crossed the 10,000 mark without even noticing. Has anyone else lost count of a major milestone like that and only found out by accident?

Build on what @the_piper said about the count fading into the background. It makes you realize how much of this job is muscle memory after a while. I could probably do a rear pad swap on that F-150 with my eyes closed by now, the hands just know the torque specs and the bleed sequence. That logbook moment really does make you stop and go "huh" before you crack open the next pair of rotors.

That 2015 F-150 is a good truck for brake work, I've done a few myself. 10,000 jobs is wild when you step back and look at it though. I think what happens is our brains just get so focused on the next task or the next customer that the big numbers slip by. It's like how nobody remembers the exact day they hit their one millionth step on their phone, it just happens while you're living your life. Your hands know the work, and the count kind of fades into the background until something like that logbook makes you stop and go "huh.
