Unpopular opinion: that "lifetime" trans fluid everyone brags about burned my 2016 Corolla at 118k
Did the famous drain and fill at 60k because the forums swore it was gospel, and by last October the shifts were slipping so bad I was quoted $3,900 for a rebuild at a shop here in Reno. Now I'm at 140k on the original fluid with zero problems, so what exactly was that $180 drain and fill saving me?
