My grandpa in Reno told me to check tire pressure cold, and my uncle said hot was fine, one of them owes me a tire
I argued with my uncle for 10 minutes at a family BBQ in Reno last Saturday because he swears you check tire pressure right after a freeway drive. My grandpa finally walked over with his old gauge, made us both wait 3 hours until the tires cooled, and the cold reading was 6 psi lower than what my uncle had been running. Cost me a new set of tires at 28,000 miles on my Civic, so now I keep a gauge in the glovebox and check before I ever leave the driveway. Does anyone else have family members who pass down car advice that is just flat out backwards?
