Just realized I was over-torquing my lug nuts for 8 years
Learned the hard way when a rotor warped on my 2012 Civic after I used a breaker bar out of habit. Tipped off when the brake pulse got worse no matter how many times I resurfaced it. Anyone else skip the torque wrench when they're in a hurry?

My first car was a 91 Accord and I did the same thing for years, just cranked them until the handle stopped moving. That rotor warp is a sneaky one too, it creeps up on you. You basically turned your brake pedal into a heartbeat monitor, didn't you? What finally made you look up the actual spec, or did you just get lucky and catch it before something worse let go?
