Blew a brake line in my driveway instead of on I-70
I went out to move my truck so my wife could get out Thursday morning and the brake pedal went straight to the floor. Turned out the rear line had rusted through and let go right there in the driveway, not on the highway two days earlier. I looked under it and there was a wet spot on the concrete the size of a dinner plate, so it had been leaking a while. Grabbed a flare nut wrench and a length of copper nickel line and spent about 3 hours bent over the rear axle in the cold. Bled all four corners after, pedal is firm again, and the whole thing cost me around $40 instead of a tow bill. Anyone got a trick for getting those factory clips off the frame without breaking them, or do you just buy new ones every time?
