Water-based paint vs solvent in a humid shop - I switched after a job in Mobile, Alabama went sideways

Sprayed a whole Mercedes bumper with waterborne on a 90% humidity day and watched it blush so bad I had to strip it back down - has anyone else had better luck with urethane in the deep south?

Mobile, Alabama, brings back memories. I did a Harley tank down in Biloxi once with some old PPG Deltron and the humidity was so thick you could practically drink it. The clear fisheyed on me three times before I gave up and just let it sit in the sun for two days. Ended up using a low-VOC hardener from a local guy who swore by it and somehow it laid out flat. I don't touch waterborne below 70% unless I absolutely have to, the dry time just isn't there. Something about how the water sits on the surface instead of flashing off quick, you know?

@garcia.miles you just described why my neighbor's pool stays green until July.
