Tried that cheap bondo from Harbor Freight last week, what a mistake

I figured I'd save $15 on a gallon of their house brand filler. Smoothed it on a quarter panel on a Ford Focus, came back the next morning and it had pinholes all over. Had to grind it all off and start over with 3M stuff. Anyone else have bad luck with bargain body fillers?

Wait, you're saying the paraffin wax is what causes those pinholes?

Man I saw a video about this exact thing last week on some old school bodyman's channel. He was saying the cheap fillers have way too much paraffin wax in them which causes that pinhole problem. It seals the top before the bottom can dry properly. I've been there with the off brand stuff on a Dodge Dakota bumper, had to sand it all smooth and then it just kept showing more little holes the thinner it got. The 3M Platinum Plus is pricey but it sands like butter and never does that.
