That rocker panel clip ate my whole Saturday afternoon
I was swapping out a rusty rocker on an old F-150 last week and could not get the last trim clip to release no matter what I tried. Ended up snapping the plastic retainer and spending 45 minutes digging out the broken piece from inside the panel. Then I realized the replacement clip I had in my bin was the wrong size, so I had to drive 20 minutes to the dealer in Tacoma just to get the right one. Total time on what should have been a 2 hour job: close to 6 hours. Has anyone else found a trick for those hidden clips without tearing the whole panel apart first?
