Seen three shops this year block sand primer with 320 and wonder why they get pigtails
I work at a shop outside Dayton and we had a truck come back twice with sand scratches showing through the sealer. Turned out the guy was jumping from 180 straight to 320 on a DA and calling it done. Primer needs 400 or finer dry, or you soak it with 600 wet, no shortcuts. Fine scratches will always swell up once that base coat hits them. What grit do you all finish your primer with before sealer?
What grit are you all finishing with on the DA, like 400 or 500? I had the same comeback problem until I started hitting primer with 500 dry then a quick 800 wet pass before sealer, no more swelling after base. 320 is just way too coarse for primer, that's your whole issue right there.
