Saw a guy sanding body filler with 80 grit the other day

Made me cringe. He was going at it on a 2022 Civic rear quarter panel. Deep scratches everywhere. Told him he needs to step up to 180 at least before primer. He looked at me like I was crazy. Said his buddy taught him that way. Buddy must hate him. Has anyone else noticed more rookies skipping the finer grits lately?

Yeah @val_taylor a buddy of mine tried 60 grit once and ended up having to redo the whole panel.
