PSA: paid $380 for a spot welder off Marketplace and it paid for itself in one rocker panel
A guy in Toledo sold me a used 220V spot welder for $380 back in March, and I was sweating that cash for a week because my compressor had just died too. First job with it was a rusted out rocker on a 2011 Silverado, and it saved me probably 3 hours of drilling and plug welding plus the panels laid flat with no warping. Anyone else running a used spot welder, and what brand of tips are you burning through fastest?
A used spot welder for $380 paying for itself in one rocker panel seems like a stretch, man. Those machines are only as good as the tips and the squeeze you put on them, so I'd want to know how the welds actually held up after a few months before calling it a win. You sure it wasn't just the new metal doing the heavy lifting there?
