Old timer told me to skip the primer on a bumper repair... big mistake
I had a guy at the shop, been doing this 30 years, tell me primer was just a waste on plastic bumpers. Said the paint would bite in fine. So I tried it on a 2015 Civic bumper last month, and the paint started peeling off in sheets after three days. Has anyone else gotten burned following that old school shortcut?

Yeah my buddy tried that trick on his Tacoma. Total disaster.

My cousin tried that same trick on his Frontier and ended up with a misfire so bad the truck sounded like a lawnmower. He spent like 3 weekends chasing vacuum leaks and cleaning sensors. Took it to a shop and they just laughed.
