My paint gun clogged on a fresh repaint in Detroit last Tuesday
I was spraying a 2018 Chevy Silverado hood and the gun just stopped mid pass. Took me 20 minutes to disassemble and find a dried chunk of hardener in the cup. Everyone says to strain your paint every time but I never bothered. Now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who skips that step and pays for it later.

I read somewhere that a lot of painters skip straining and just roll the dice. That dried chunk in the cup is a classic sign you got a bad batch or didn't mix it long enough. Hardener loves to hide in the bottom corners and surprise you later.

A guy I knew in Flint skipped straining for ten years straight without a single clog. That dried chunk in your cup makes me wonder if you're actually cursed and just didn't know it yet. I'd say you're the one who finally proved the odds are real.
