My buddy swore by using a heat gun on that quarter panel and I should have listened
He told me three times to warm up the metal before trying to pull the dent on this old Ford pickup. I was in a rush, thought I could just use the slide hammer cold, and ended up putting a small tear right near the wheel arch. Had to stop, weld it up, and start over, which added like two hours to the job. Now I'm looking at extra time for filler and sanding because I didn't take the thirty seconds to get my Milwaukee heat gun out. It's one of those things you know but sometimes ignore when you're trying to move fast. Has anyone else messed up a simple pull by skipping a basic prep step like that?

Ever tried to buff out a scratch and just made it way worse?

I did the same thing on a '92 Civic door last year, tore the metal just like @emma_young's scratch story. That heat gun step is everything lol.
