Just hit 1,000 hours on my orbital sander and it feels weirdly personal
I was cleaning my gear yesterday and checked the hour meter I stuck on my sander's cord years ago. It rolled over to 1,000. That's a lot of time holding a vibrating block, mostly on a 1998 Ford Ranger bed I'm still fixing for a buddy. It's not a fancy milestone, but it made me think about all the filler dust and primer overspray that thing has seen. Anyone else get oddly attached to a specific, beat-up tool?

That "weirdly personal" feeling... I get it. My old drill has a crack in the case from when I dropped it off a ladder, and I'd never replace it.

@sandra146 that cracked drill case is a badge of honor though. I got a cordless impact driver with a broken trigger guard from a pawn shop and I’ll probably pass it down to my nephew someday. The problem is I hate new tools because they're too clean and I’ll just mess them up anyway.
