Heard a guy at the supply house say you should always use a 2K clear on every job

He was telling the counter guy that anything less is a hack job, even on a simple bumper scuff. I've been doing this for fifteen years out of my shop in Akron, and that's just not true for every situation. A good single stage can be perfect for a quick spot repair on an older car where you're matching faded paint. When do you all decide to skip the 2K?

Honestly, that "hack job" line is wild. What's his actual reason for saying a single stage can't ever look right?

My neighbor's 98 Civic got a perfect match with single stage last week.

That Civic story proves them wrong.
