Can we talk about that one job that just eats up your whole day?

I had a 2017 Ford F-150 come in last week with a dented rear quarter panel. Looked simple, but the inner structure was bent and the factory seam sealer was like concrete. What I thought was a 4 hour job turned into a full 8 hour day just on that one panel. Has anyone else had a 'quick fix' turn into a marathon because of hidden damage or stubborn factory materials?

It's the same with home repairs. You start a simple tile job and find rotten subfloor. The real work is always fixing what you didn't see coming.

My old Honda needed new brakes last year, and the repair bill tripled once they found the rusted calipers. It feels like everything has hidden problems waiting to be found.

Yeah, that "tripled" bill is rough. But honestly, rusted calipers on an old car aren't really a hidden problem, it's just normal wear you can't see until you take the wheel off.
