A painter's comment about my filler work changed my sanding game
Had a job last month on a Chevy Silverado in Tacoma, and the painter pointed out he could see my filler lines through the primer. He said the edges were feathered too sharp, so I started using a longer block and crossing my strokes more. Took an extra 15 minutes on each panel, but the finish comes out flat now. Anyone else get fixated on one sanding direction and miss the bigger picture?

The short block was definitely the culprit. I did the same thing on a Ford Raptor last year, feathering every repair like it was a razor edge. Switched to a 12 inch block and started using a figure eight pattern, night and day difference. Now I check my work under a drop light before priming, saves me the embarrassment later.
