Warning: My backyard shots with a basic lens are getting more love than some Hubble posts
Everyone in this group seems to think that only processed images from big scopes are worth sharing. I stuck with my simple camera and a fixed lens for months, just learning the sky. Last week, I got a clear shot of the Milky Way that made my friends ask how I did it. It’s not rocket science, just patience and a dark night. I think we focus too much on gear and not enough on just looking up.

Holy cow, have you seen the shots from a phone compared to a DSLR?

Ugh, that's such an overused line. A good camera sure helps you get better shots though.
