TIL stacking 40 phone shots of the moon beats my fancy DSLR setup, and it is not close
I drove out to a field near Bend, Oregon last month with my DSLR and a 300mm lens, and every single moon shot came out soft and blown out no matter what I did with the settings. That same night I braced my phone on a fence post and grabbed 40 quick frames, and when I stacked them in free software the crater detail was way sharper than anything the camera gave me. Now I want to know if anyone here has ditched their big lens for phone stacking, or am I just bad at using my camera?
