Spent $850 on a motorized star tracker, best and worst money I've ever put into photos

I finally pulled the trigger on a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi last spring because my hands shake too much for 30 second exposures without it. First night out in the Cascades, it tracked like a dream and I got this sharp 2 minute shot of the Orion Nebula that blew my mind. But then the Bluetooth kept dropping on a cold night near Mount Rainier and I nearly threw the thing into a lake. Turns out the app needs a firmware update and the manual hides that in tiny print on page 43. Now I'm wondering if I should've just stuck with stacking 200 shorter frames instead of dropping that cash. Those who own trackers, did you feel the upgrade was worth it or do you regret the cost? Also curious if anyone's tried the cheaper $300 models and gotten decent results for deep sky stuff.
