Showerthought: My 'before' shot of the Orion Nebula looked like a gray blob until I stacked 45 minutes of exposures from my backyard in Phoenix.

The difference was so wild it looked like someone had turned on a light switch inside the cloud, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has a specific target that just needs way more integration time than they first thought.

My first try at Andromeda was just a sad little smudge until I doubled the exposure time.

My smudge at 30 seconds looked like a ghost, honestly.

Totally get that. Longer exposures make all the difference, right?
