Shoutout to the guy on YouTube who finally explained flats the right way

I spent like three whole nights trying to get my flats right for my Andromeda shot, kept getting weird gradients. Turns out I was using the wrong exposure time for my camera, the ASI533, and my light panel was too bright. Watched a video from a guy named Trevor at AstroBackyard and he said to aim for 30,000 ADU, not just a quick exposure, and that fixed it instantly. Anyone else get stuck on flats for way too long?

My buddy fought with his flats for a week before realizing his dew heater was casting a shadow.

Honestly, how bad could the shadow be? Tbh I'd just crop it out and move on.
