Rant: That one Tuesday last October when the aurora predictions were dead wrong
I stayed up until 3 AM on a Tuesday last October because every forecast said the aurora would be visible as far south as my town in Oregon. Got my camera all set up in a field with zero light pollution, and all I saw was a faint green smudge that barely showed up on a 30 second exposure. Has anyone else had a night where the apps and forecasts totally let you down?
