Old sharpening advice from a random guy in Tucson fixed my star shots
Ngl, I used to crank up sharpening in post to make my moon and Milky Way photos pop. Got harsh feedback on a cloudy night photo in 2021 from some older dude on here, said my stars looked like crunchy sand. He told me to drop sharpening to zero and work on focus instead. I switched to a Bahtinov mask and now my shots from Kitt Peak area are way cleaner, sharpening is barely at 15. Anyone else have a random forum comment that rewired their whole workflow?

Trust the focus fix, skip the crunchy slider.
