My telescope filter broke during a star party in Flagstaff

I was out at a dark sky site near Lowell Observatory last month and my brand new OIII filter cracked when a guy bumped my tripod. Now I'm paranoid about bringing expensive gear to crowded events. Does anyone wrap their filters in cases or just throw them in a pouch?

Small Pelican case with foam inserts, never had a problem since.

Dude same here. Once I switched to a Pelican with custom foam, all my gear worries just disappeared.
