Just hit 100 hours of exposure on the Orion Nebula and I think I am done with it
Last Friday I crossed 100 total hours stacked on M42 from my backyard in Boise. It sounds like a lot but most of that was 300 second subs over 14 months, and half the frames were junk from clouds or dew. The weird part is the photo still does not look as good as shots I see from dark sites with way less time on target. So I am calling it: more hours does not always beat darker skies, and I am tired of pretending the opposite. Anyone else hit a big integration number and still feel like the result fell flat?
