I know everyone loves the Milky Way shots from Joshua Tree, but my trip to the Grand Canyon last month showed me how much light pollution has crept in.

My cousin tried to stargaze near Flagstaff last year and said the glow from Phoenix was visible on the horizon.

My friend Mark drove two hours out of Vegas to see the Milky Way. He said the city light dome looked like a permanent sunset behind him. It really kills the mood when you can't escape the glow.
