Found out my cheap telescope mount was way better than I thought

I finally got around to checking the periodic error on my mount last night using a guide camera. Turns out it's under 5 arcseconds peak to peak, which I read on CloudyNights is pretty decent for a $300 mount. Has anyone else gotten lucky with a budget setup?

Oh nice, that's a solid find for the price. I'd check if your mount has any backlash in the gears too, a little tweaking there can make a big difference with guiding. Worth throwing on some cheap counterweights if you haven't already.

I've had mixed luck with gear tweaking myself but I get why some people swear by it.
