Finally got a clear shot of the Orion Nebula from my backyard

I've been trying for weeks, but my shots were always a fuzzy mess. I stacked 45 two-minute exposures using DeepSkyStacker, and the difference was crazy. Anyone have tips for dealing with light pollution from a suburban area?

Man that suburban light pollution is brutal. My neighbor installed one of those motion sensor floodlights that triggers every time a cat sneezes. Tried using a light pollution filter but it just made everything look a bit blue and washed out. Honestly I just gave up and started imaging during the new moon when the sky is darkest. Also learned to schedule my sessions for 2am when everyone else is asleep and those dang lights finally kick off.

My neighbor's security light ruined my Andromeda shot last week.

Was it really that bad or just a little extra light?
