Dropped $85 on a light pollution filter in Flagstaff and it did almost nothing
I got talked into buying an 85 dollar light pollution filter at a star party near Flagstaff last month, and the guy at the booth swore it would make my Milky Way shots pop. I drove 40 minutes out of town, took two sets of photos with and without it, and the difference was barely there. All it really did was add a weird blue tint I had to fix in editing anyway. For that kind of money I could have just driven further away from town and gotten a way better result. Has anyone found a filter that actually does something, or am I just chasing a fix that doesn't exist?
